Beats Studio Buds+ vs Sony WF-C710N: ANC Earbuds Compared
Beats favors physical buttons, four ear-tip sizes and native setup features on both major phone platforms. Sony adds two-device multipoint and longer published ANC-on listening figures.
Best for
Phone and laptop listeners choosing compact true-wireless earbuds with active noise cancellation and an ambient listening mode.
Probably not for
Swimming, hearing protection, lossless wired listening, or anyone expecting manufacturer battery figures to guarantee the same runtime at every volume.

Beats Studio Buds+, Transparent
Beats Studio Buds+ combine active noise cancellation and transparency mode with a physical multifunction button on each 5-gram earbud. Beats supplies four ear-tip sizes, quotes up to 6 hours per charge with ANC or transparency enabled and supports native setup features on both Apple and Android devices.
Pros
- Physical buttons avoid relying on tap recognition for everyday playback commands.
- Four included tip sizes and native Apple and Android onboarding widen the fit and setup options.
Cons
- The published ANC-on totals are shorter than Sony’s stated figures.
- The case charges by USB-C but does not provide wireless charging.
Who it’s for: Choose them for button controls, four tip sizes and phone-friendly setup across iOS and Android. Pass if broad two-device multipoint is essential.

Sony WF-C710N earbuds provide noise canceling, ambient sound, touch controls and simultaneous multipoint connection to two devices. Sony publishes up to 8.5 hours of earbud listening and 30 hours with the case when noise canceling is on, plus customization through the Sound Connect app.
Pros
- Two-device multipoint suits listeners who move between a phone and computer.
- Sony publishes longer ANC-on and ANC-off listening totals than Beats.
Cons
- Touch controls may be less appealing to someone who wants a definite mechanical press.
- The charging case is not water resistant even though the earbuds carry an IPX4 rating.
Who it’s for: Choose them for two-device multipoint, longer published listening figures and Sony app controls. Pass if physical buttons are a firm preference.

With noise control active, Beats publishes up to 6 hours from the earbuds and 24 hours total with the case. Sony publishes up to 8.5 hours from the earbuds and 30 hours total with noise canceling on. With ANC off, the respective totals rise to 9 and 36 hours for Beats and 12 and 40 hours for Sony. Those are manufacturer conditions, not this site’s measurements.
Volume, codec, calls, device settings, temperature, feature use and battery age all change runtime. The case total also includes recharges rather than one uninterrupted session. Sony’s larger published figure is useful for planning, but it does not prove equal loudness or identical signal conditions. Choose around your longest normal session and keep margin for aging.
Buttons and touch sensors feel different every day
Studio Buds+ put a pressable multifunction button on each earbud. A physical click can be easier to confirm while walking or wearing gloves, though pressing may push the bud slightly into the ear. WF-C710N uses touch sensors, which avoid mechanical force but depend on deliberate taps and can react differently when hair, a hat or damp fingers reach the control area.
Review the control maps before purchase. Playback, calls, noise modes, assistants and volume may use different press or tap patterns, and some assignments can be changed in the companion app. Neither interface is universally better. A listener who often adjusts an earbud by its outer face may prefer a button, while someone who dislikes pressing inward may prefer touch.
Platform support is broader than an iPhone label
Beats supports Apple one-touch pairing, Hey Siri and Find My features, while Android users receive Fast Pair, Find My Device, Audio Switch and configuration through the Beats app on supported hardware and software. That makes Studio Buds+ unusually deliberate about both phone platforms. Android Audio Switch, however, should not be generalized into universal simultaneous multipoint for every device pair.
Sony explicitly supports multipoint connection to two devices, which is valuable for a laptop and phone routine. Sound Connect supplies settings and updates. Multipoint behavior still depends on supported Bluetooth profiles, apps and device settings; it does not mix two audio streams at once. Check work-computer Bluetooth policies and conferencing compatibility before treating any consumer earbud as a guaranteed office headset.
Fit and water resistance have practical limits
Beats includes XS, S, M and L ear tips. The right seal affects stability, bass response and how much outside sound reaches the microphones, so try both ears independently rather than assuming one size. Sony’s rounded shape follows a different fit approach. Ear geometry is personal, and this research comparison cannot predict comfort from dimensions or product photos.
Both earbud sets are rated IPX4 for splashing. That is not a swimming rating, does not make either charging case waterproof and does not establish protection against every liquid. Sony explicitly states that its case is not water resistant. Dry the earbuds before placing them in the case, follow each cleaning guide and do not treat noise cancellation as certified hearing protection.
Choose around the feature you will notice
Choose Studio Buds+ for physical controls, four tip sizes and integrated Apple and Android setup. Choose WF-C710N for two-device multipoint, touch operation and Sony’s longer published battery figures. Sound preference and ANC effectiveness require a controlled listening comparison and a proper seal, so this guide does not rank either model for sound quality or noise reduction.
Confirm transparent B0BZK2Z2TC and black B0DWHPBK42 on Amazon. Color variants can use different ASINs, and older WF-C700N or original Studio Buds listings are not these models. Verify the seller, included cable and return terms in case fit is wrong. No price, stock, measured battery life or personal listening test is claimed.
