Logitech Pebble Keys 2 K380s vs Keys-To-Go 2 for a Tablet and Desk

Both can switch among three paired devices. The K380s offers a wider typing surface and AAA batteries; Keys-To-Go 2 prioritizes a smaller bag footprint and a built-in cover.

Best for

Tablet and laptop users who want one compact keyboard for several devices and are deciding between desk use and daily travel.

Probably not for

A keyboard case that holds the tablet, a numeric keypad, or buying on the assumption that every tablet supports every desktop software shortcut.

Logitech Pebble Keys 2 K380s, Tonal Graphite

The keyboard-only K380s uses round, scooped keys and dedicated Easy-Switch buttons. Logitech documents Bluetooth Low Energy, optional Logi Bolt connectivity and ten customizable shortcut keys through supported software. The receiver is not included with this standalone keyboard.

Pros

  • AAA batteries are replaceable through the battery compartment.
  • The wider body and more substantial keyboard profile may suit someone who dislikes an especially shallow travel keyboard.

Cons

  • At 415 g it adds more bag weight than the 222 g Keys-To-Go 2.
  • It has no integrated cover, so protecting the exposed keys during travel requires a separate solution.

Who it’s for: Choose it for a compact desk setup with occasional travel. Pass if minimizing carried size and weight is the primary requirement.

Logitech Keys-To-Go 2 Universal, Graphite

This is the second-generation keyboard in the Universal layout, not the original rechargeable Keys-To-Go or the Apple-only layout. It combines a folding protective cover, scissor keys and three-device Bluetooth switching. The manufacturer datasheet lists a 250 by 105 mm footprint and two installed coin-cell batteries.

Pros

  • Its smaller footprint and integrated cover suit frequent packing and unpacking.
  • The Universal layout supports a mixed-device workflow rather than restricting the choice to an Apple layout.

Cons

  • The very thin form is a preference tradeoff, not an automatic typing improvement.
  • It uses coin cells rather than USB charging; carrying a charging cable will not replace depleted batteries.

Who it’s for: Choose it for a tablet carried between locations. Pass if you need an attached tablet stand, trackpad or a rechargeable keyboard.

Choose for the place you type most often

For a keyboard that stays beside a monitor most of the week, a few saved grams may matter less than key spacing, desk position and easy battery replacement. The K380s leaves a relatively compact desk footprint while providing a wider body than Keys-To-Go 2. Neither width proves comfort for a particular person; the right choice depends on how your hands sit on the keys.

For someone writing captions, notes or longer messages on a tablet away from home, repeated packing changes the calculation. Keys-To-Go 2 combines the protective cover with the keyboard itself. Its published weight is 193 g lower, calculated from the manufacturer figures. That is a useful bag-weight difference, not evidence of better typing speed or reliability.

Three pairings still mean one active destination

Easy-Switch remembers paired devices so you can move between them. It does not send the same paragraph to three screens at once or transfer a document between operating systems. For a laptop, phone and tablet setup, assign each device a channel and develop the habit of checking the active one before entering a message or password.

Both products use Bluetooth for a direct connection. The K380s guide also documents an optional Logi Bolt receiver; the Keys-To-Go 2 datasheet lists Bolt compatibility too. Neither standalone listing should be treated as a promise that a receiver is included. If your work computer restricts Bluetooth pairing or software installation, confirm what its administrator permits before ordering.

The layout and software matter as much as the hardware

Keys-To-Go 2 is sold in Universal and dedicated Apple layouts. The link here selects Graphite, Universal, Keys-To-Go 2. Its datasheet names Windows 10+, Android 12+, ChromeOS, iPadOS/iOS 17+ and macOS 14+ for the Universal version. The K380s setup guide lists older minimum versions for several systems. Check the exact operating system on an older tablet rather than assuming that Bluetooth alone confirms full support.

Logi Options+ customization is a Windows and macOS feature; do not buy expecting the same configuration application on a tablet. Ordinary typing, operating-system shortcuts and customized desktop functions are different capabilities. List the shortcuts you actually use, such as switching apps or capturing a screen, and verify them for the device you will carry.

Plan a complete tablet setup

Neither keyboard is a fitted tablet case. A separate stand or a case with a viewing position is still needed, and a small café table has to hold both pieces. Try that arrangement with your existing tablet before buying. A portable keyboard can free you to place the screen higher, but it cannot create space where the table is too small.

Choose K380s for the desk-first routine and AAA power; choose Keys-To-Go 2 when its cover and smaller dimensions solve a regular travel problem. Both use replaceable batteries, so avoid assuming USB-C charging. Keep spare coin cells safely away from children. These are documented design differences, not tested comfort, noise or endurance rankings.
