Vitamix E310 vs Ninja BN701: Full-Size Blender Differences

These full-size countertop blenders are designed around different workflows. E310 offers ten variable speeds, pulse and a tamper; BN701 offers a larger pitcher, stacked blade assembly and three timed Auto-iQ programs.

Best for

Households choosing a full-size countertop blender for cold recipes by batch capacity, manual control, presets, cleaning and warranty.

Probably not for

Blending hot or pressurized contents without explicit manual approval, a direct horsepower-versus-watts ranking, or a promise of identical texture from different ingredients.

Vitamix Explorian E310, black

Vitamix E310 is a 48-ounce full-size blender with ten variable speeds, a pulse switch, a two-horsepower motor rating and an included mini tamper. Its control panel is manual rather than preset-based, and Vitamix lists a five-year full warranty for the exact model.

Pros

  • Ten variable speeds and the tamper support direct manual control of a thick cold mixture.
  • The published five-year warranty is longer than Ninja’s one-year limited coverage.

Cons

  • It has no timed preset programs, so the operator controls the cycle.
  • The 48-ounce container holds less than Ninja’s 64-ounce maximum liquid capacity.

Who it’s for: Choose it for variable-speed control, a tamper and the longer maker warranty. Pass if timed programs and a larger cold-liquid batch are more useful than manual control.

Ninja Professional Plus Blender BN701

Ninja BN701 uses a 72-ounce pitcher with a 64-ounce maximum liquid line, a removable stacked blade assembly and a 1400-peak-watt motor rating. Its panel supplies low, medium, high and pulse controls plus three Auto-iQ programs for smoothies, frozen drinks and ice cream.

Pros

  • The 64-ounce maximum liquid line accommodates a larger cold batch than E310.
  • Three timed Auto-iQ programs add repeatable button-driven routines alongside manual controls.

Cons

  • The stacked blade assembly is sharp, removable and requires careful handling during pouring and cleaning.
  • Its one-year limited warranty is shorter than Vitamix’s published five-year coverage.

Who it’s for: Choose it for a larger cold-liquid batch and timed programs. Pass if a tamper, continuous speed dial or longer manufacturer warranty is the central requirement.

Horsepower and peak watts are not a valid scorecard

Vitamix publishes a two-horsepower rating for E310. Ninja publishes 1400 peak watts and a 1200-watt electrical rating for BN701. Horsepower, peak watts and rated input watts are not interchangeable measures of delivered blending performance. Converting one headline number into the other and declaring a winner would ignore motor curves, controls, blade geometry, container shape and the conditions used by each manufacturer.

Use the electrical label for circuit planning and the manual for duty guidance, but do not assume the larger marketing number creates a smoother result. Ingredient temperature, liquid ratio, load size, order and cycle length can dominate the outcome. This site did not blend ice, nuts or smoothies in a controlled test, so it does not claim a texture, time, noise or durability advantage for either product.

The useful capacity is the marked operating limit

E310 uses a 48-ounce container. BN701 is described as a 72-ounce pitcher but Ninja specifies 64 ounces as its maximum liquid capacity. Total vessel volume and permitted liquid fill are not the same number. Follow the marked maximum and leave the space required for circulation. Overfilling can cause leaks, poor movement or pressure, and a larger pitcher is not automatically better for a small serving.

A 48-ounce container can be a practical middle ground for family sauces, frozen drinks and moderate batches, while Ninja’s 64-ounce liquid limit provides more room for a group. Very small loads may not circulate the same way in either full-size vessel. If individual cups are the main job, compare a personal blender instead of buying a larger pitcher on capacity alone.

Manual speed control and presets suit different cooks

E310 supplies a ten-position variable-speed dial and pulse switch. The operator starts low, raises speed as the recipe directs and stops when the desired condition is reached. Its mini tamper is designed for use through the lid opening with the lid secured, helping move thick compatible recipes toward the blades without a utensil entering the blade path.

BN701 supplies low, medium, high and pulse buttons plus three Auto-iQ programs. The programs combine timed pulses, pauses and continuous blending for their named routines, but they cannot assess every ingredient or preferred texture. Presets help someone who wants a button-driven sequence; manual controls suit someone who wants to respond continuously. Unplug either machine before scraping below the lid or touching a blade component.

Blade handling and cleaning are different jobs

Vitamix integrates the blade assembly into the container and promotes a soap-and-water self-cleaning cycle. Self-cleaning still requires rinsing, inspection and attention to residue around the lid and container. Do not remove the blade assembly for routine cleaning. The tamper should be used only as instructed with the correct lid, never as a loose utensil while the machine is running.

Ninja’s stacked blade assembly lifts from the pitcher and has sharp edges along its central column. Remove and wash it by the shaft as the manual directs, keep hands away from the edges and do not pour with the loose blade still able to fall. Dishwasher-safe parts can simplify cleanup, but dishwasher placement and detergent guidance still matter. The base of either blender must stay dry and should only be wiped after unplugging.

Choose around workflow, not an unsupported texture claim

Choose E310 when continuous variable speed, an included tamper, a 48-ounce batch and five-year warranty fit the kitchen. Choose BN701 when the 64-ounce maximum liquid line, stacked blades and three Auto-iQ programs better match larger cold batches. Measure the cabinet clearance: E310 is listed at 18 inches high, while BN701 is 17.5 inches high, and both need working room for the lid.

Confirm black B0758JHZM3 for E310 and dark gray B0855B5Z6F for BN701 on Amazon. Do not blend hot or carbonated contents unless the exact manual explicitly permits the recipe and method; a sealed or unsuitable vessel can build pressure. Check included parts and warranty eligibility for the seller. No blending test, noise measurement, price, stock status or recipe outcome is claimed here.
