Best for
Beginners, students and creators choosing a compact screenless tablet for drawing, editing, annotation or mapped pointer control.
Probably not for
Anyone expecting a built-in display, standalone drawing computer, guaranteed software compatibility or proof that a higher pressure number improves artwork.

Wacom Intuos Small CTL-4100
The wired Intuos Small CTL-4100 measures about 7.87 by 6.3 by 0.35 inches with a 6.0 by 3.7-inch active area. Its battery-free Wacom Pen 4K provides 4,096 pressure levels and two programmable pen buttons. Four tablet ExpressKeys can receive application-specific assignments on supported Windows and macOS systems. The included cable is USB-A to Micro-B. Wacom lists support for Windows, macOS and Chromebook, with Android use subject to compatible devices, OTG support and adapters.
Pros
- Four ExpressKeys and two pen buttons can store common application shortcuts.
- The exact CTL-4100 has clear official setup documentation and broad desktop operating-system support.
Cons
- The wired model uses Micro-B at the tablet and USB-A at the computer, so some USB-C-only devices need an adapter.
- Its active area and number of tablet controls are smaller than the Huion model's published figures.
Who it’s for: Choose it for the Wacom driver ecosystem, four ExpressKeys and a compact wired tablet. Skip it when USB-C at the tablet or a scroller is essential.

The Inspiroy 2 S H641P is a screenless tablet with a 6.3 by 3.9-inch working area, six programmable press keys and a scroller. Its battery-free PW110 pen is specified for 8,192 pressure levels. The tablet connects by USB-C and Huion publishes support across Windows, macOS, ChromeOS, Linux, Android and HarmonyOS with version and device conditions. The physical tablet is about 246 by 152 mm, so its working area remains compact even though the chassis is wider than the Wacom.
Pros
- Six press keys plus a scroller provide more on-tablet controls than the CTL-4100.
- USB-C at the tablet and the slightly larger working area can suit a modern portable setup.
Cons
- Operating-system support still depends on current Huion drivers and device-specific connection requirements.
- The 8,192-level figure alone does not prove better line quality, accuracy or drawing feel.
Who it’s for: Choose it for the scroller, six keys and USB-C tablet connection. Skip it if a particular app or school environment is documented only for the Wacom driver.

Neither product has a display. The pen moves on the tablet while the pointer appears on a computer, Chromebook or supported mobile screen. That hand-eye separation takes practice, especially for someone moving from paper or a pen display. It also lets the hardware remain thin and compact, and it avoids covering the artwork with a hand.
Wacom lists a 6.0 by 3.7-inch active area for Intuos Small. Huion lists 6.3 by 3.9 inches for Inspiroy 2 S. The difference is modest. Display aspect ratio, mapping settings and the physical space available beside the keyboard may be more important than the fraction of an inch between them.
Pressure-level totals are not a drawing-quality score
Wacom specifies 4,096 pressure levels; Huion specifies 8,192. A larger number describes how many input levels the system can report, not whether an artist will produce smoother lines. Pen activation, driver curves, application brush settings, surface texture and individual pressure habits all influence how those levels feel.
Treat both as pressure-sensitive input devices and check whether the intended application uses pressure at all. Presentation annotation, handwriting or photo masking may rely more on cursor control and shortcuts than on the maximum pressure count. Adjust the pressure curve before deciding that a pen feels too firm or too sensitive.
Shortcut controls favor different habits
Intuos Small places four ExpressKeys along the tablet edge and adds two pen buttons. Huion supplies six press keys and a scroller in addition to its pen buttons. More controls can reduce keyboard reaches, but only after each function is assigned and remembered. A scroller is useful for zooming, brush size or canvas rotation when the driver and application mapping cooperate.
Wacom notes that ExpressKey behavior varies by supported platform, and Huion also relies on its driver for customization. On a managed school or work computer, confirm installation permission before buying. A tablet with many programmable controls loses much of that advantage if the required driver cannot be installed.
Check the computer port, operating system and exact model
Choose CTL-4100 for the wired Wacom Intuos Small workflow and four ExpressKeys. Choose H641P for a USB-C tablet port, a slightly larger working area and more physical controls. Neither should be confused with a Bluetooth Intuos model, a larger Inspiroy size or a pen display with a screen.
Verify the current driver for the actual operating-system version and application, then inventory needed adapters. Chromebook and Android support can have more limitations than desktop use. For a second visual workspace rather than pen input, see the portable-monitor comparison; for converting paper documents to files, see the portable-scanner guide.
