Why ordinary patches show through makeup
Covering an active breakout with makeup can make texture more obvious, and placing foundation over an ordinary pimple patch often trades one visible spot for a perfectly outlined sticker. In this test, Laynie applies makeup over both a familiar thin patch and the Dr. Melaxin S-ZINC ZERO-FIT patch so the difference can be seen on the same face.
The practical question is not whether a patch exists on the skin. It is whether the edge catches product, reflects light, or creates a ring that becomes more obvious as makeup is blended over it.
The details that made the difference
The ZERO-FIT patch is listed at 0.013 millimeters thick. Laynie also calls out its small placement tabs: she can position the patch without touching the treatment area or folding the edge with her fingers. Once the tabs are removed and makeup is applied, the patch blends much more closely with the surrounding skin in her demonstration.
Her review also notes sulfur and zinc PCA in the formula. Those are product ingredients, not a promise that every breakout will respond the same way. The most convincing part of the video is the visible comparison: the standard patches remain easy to spot, while the ZERO-FIT patches are difficult to find until she peels them off.
Removal matters too
Laynie normally removes the patches while washing her face instead of pulling them off dry. That is a small but useful routine detail for anyone who tries to avoid unnecessary tugging on irritated skin. In the demonstration she peels them off only to prove that the patches were still there after the makeup application.

Everyone knows you should not put makeup directly on an active breakout, but when you put makeup on top of an ordinary pimple patch, you can clearly see it there.
I love that these new Dr. Melaxin S-ZINC ZERO-FIT ones have little handles, so you can clearly see where you are placing the patch without messing it up with your fingers. The other pimple patches I am using are already advertised as thin, but the S-ZINC ZERO-FIT patch is 0.013 millimeters and is designed for makeup to go on top of it.
It has sulfur and zinc PCA, and it shields the breakout from the makeup. It ends up nearly invisible on the skin. To prove I did not take them off or use a filter, I still have them on—look, I will peel them all off so you can see.
I do not normally peel them off like this. I usually wash my face and let them come off that way so I am not pulling and tugging at my skin. The other pimple patches are easy to see and take off. These blend into the skin.
